We will be discussing two texts:
– The Problem with Diaspora Art by Zarina Muhammad from the White Pube

audio version: https://soundcloud.com/thewhitepube/the-problem-with-diaspora-art
– Performing Disidentity: Disidentification as a Practice of Freedom, from José Esteban Muñoz’s Disidentifications: Queers of Color and the Performance of Politics
This event is open to all. Please email 633311@soas.ac.uk for a copy of the Muñoz piece, and if you are not a SOAS student please indicate so in the email so you can be registered for entry into the building.
The building and room are wheelchair accessible. There are wheelchair accessible toilets on the ground floor and gender neutral cubicles in the basement of the building.
Directions to the room: Located in SOAS’ main building on the ground floor – head to the main set of lifts and follow the corridor round to the left and follow the signs to the room.
