Description
The ‘Welcome and Welcome Back’ event brings together students, researchers, practitioners, and activists across and outside of the CHASE network who are engaged with thinking, research, pedagogy, and practice that inspires forms of feminist resistance.
This evening event is an opportunity to hear more about the CHASE Feminist Network, meet the current committee and gather with new and established members. We will share the details of upcoming events taking place this academic year, including the annual Sharing Feminist Research and Practice Conference (February 2020), that has been designed to offer alternative modes of thinking and expression to those dominating within the mainstream neo-liberal university. The current committee will explain how to apply for the Small Projects Fund which has already provided funding across CHASE institutions for diverse and exciting projects that support the aims and objectives of the network. Some of the successful recipients from our first round of the Small Projects Fund will share their experiences with the application process and explain how their inspiring ideas have been realised with the help of the network.
We value and respect the contributions of all women and allies to our network. This includes trans women, trans men and people who identify outside gender binaries. We also recognise and respect the intersectionality of feminism and the various levels of oppression experienced by women, trans women and non-binary individuals across class and race lines. We will not tolerate harassment or bullying of anyone based on their gender identity or expression.
Come and join us for an evening of catching up, meeting new people, feminist thinking and sharing – we are eager to hear your thoughts on our plans for the year ahead and any ideas you might like to contribute.
Please register your attendance on EventBrite se we know how many people we are catering for!
